Clients participate in a 4-day intensive introduction to Hawaiian culture.  During this course, the fundamental essence of Hawaiian culture is explored through locally guided traditional activities.  These activities may include:

• Introduction to Hawaiian Languages: traditional Hawaiian & dialect
• Taro cultivation & poi making
• Traditional dances: the hula and the haka
• Hawaiian martial arts and the concept of the warrior in Hawaiian culture
• Exploring Hawaiian spirituality and religion through the restoration of heiaus, ancient Hawaiian temples
• Fishing with traditional methods and values

Over the course of the program, participants prepare for a luau, which they will put on for themselves and the local community to celebrate their experience.
